Dear WCC Families, 


You have all been on our minds during this difficult and uncertain time. The leadership team of Westfield has been working tirelessly to identify ways to support every child and family we serve and every staff member we employ, while also safeguarding Westfield to ensure it will continue to operate long into the future.   


To that end, we would like to take a moment to update you on where things stand at Westfield.


This week:


  • We have remained open the last two days to provide care for essential employees and those not able to work from home. 
  • Per Governor Baker's order, Westfield, along with all other non-emergency centers, will be closed from Monday, March 23 through Friday, April 3. 
  • Our cleaning company and our staff have been cleaning and disinfecting the center non-stop and preparing for when we can re-open.  The transportation team has also worked to clean and prepare our buses and vans. 
  • We have completed the application process to serve as an emergency center during this crisis.  There is no guarantee that we will be selected or that we will meet the requirements. We will keep you posted. 


Payment Policies:


The following payment policies will be in place through Friday, April 3.  


  • Tuition, transportation, and parent/subsidy fees for this week, March 16-20, will stay in place and must be paid in full ( any overdue account balances, must also be paid in full).
  • Families receiving vouchers/childcare subsidies will not be charged during the two weeks that Westfield is closed, Monday, March 23 through Friday, April, 3, per Governor Baker's orders. 
  • Families not receiving child care vouchers/subsidies, will be charged a weekly fee of 25% of their regular weekly tuition rate for the two weeks Westfield is closed, Monday March 23 through Friday, April 3.   We understand that this payment policy may place an additional burden on some families.  Please know. this policy is necessary to preserve the longevity of Westfield as a significant portion of our revenue comes from private pay tuition and fees.
  • We will be in the office today until 4:30 PM to process payments.  Credit card payments can be called into the office, 508-588-0100.  Families who prefer to drop off a payment should park in front of the office and a member of our staff will meet you at your vehicle to process your payment.
  • We also now have a convenient and secure way for parents to pay online using Tuition Express - a part of our Procare Software system.  If you would like to do that, please visit www.myprocare.com and enter the email we have on file for you to access your account.
  • Updated account statements will be emailed by Tuesday, March 24.


Moving Forward:

  • We will keep you posted via email, our website www.westfieldchildcenter.com, and our Facebook Page.
  • The state is scheduled to release the list of emergency centers tomorrow.  We will share this information with all of you as soon as it becomes available.  
  • We are also putting together a list of available resources for families.
  • Members of our administrative team will be working behind the scenes while Westfield is closed.  Please reach out if there is anything we can do to support you and your family. 
  • We are working with our staff to bring a little bit of joy to the children during this time. Follow our Facebook page for fun updates throughout the next two weeks.


In closing...  


While we don't know what the future holds, we do know that we cannot give up hope.  We will get through this together, as a community and as a country.
